Grafting of Acrylic Membrane Prepared from Fibers Waste for Dyes Removal: Methylene Blue and Congo Red

نویسندگان

چکیده

Dyes are a type of pollutant that have been discharged into water streams by various industries and had harmful effects on the environment human health. Therefore, present work was directed to recycle acrylic fibers waste be used as an adsorbent exclude dyes such methylene blue (MB) Congo red (CR) from dyes-polluted wastewater. Acrylic converted membrane followed chemical grafting with p-phenylenediamine monomer form functional modified membranes. Afterwards, some characterization analyses; Fourier transform-infrared, scanning electron microscope, swelling behavior, porosity properties were performed for fiber grafted (AFGM). For obtaining best conditions permit highest adsorption capacity AFGM, preliminary experiments general full factorial design displayed. Langmuir, Freundlich isotherms kinetic studies evaluations applied. Results revealed that, capacities AFGM 61% Methylene 86% stated high affinity anionic dyes. The reusability membranes in different cycles 3Rs processes “Removal, Recovery, Re-use” indicated efficiency wastewater treatment.

Removal of Methylene Blue from Waste Water Using Activated Carbon Prepared from Rice Husk

The possible utilization of rice husk activated carbon as an adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions has been investigated. In this study, activated carbons, prepared from low-cost rice husk by sulfuric acid and zinc chloride activation, were used as the adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue, a basic dye, from aqueous solutions. Effects of various experiment...

Degradation of Dyes (Methylene Blue and Congo Red Dye) Using Phosphomolybdic Acid

The phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) has been used as an adsorbent for the removal of dyes (Methylene blue and Congo red dye) from synthetic aqueous solution. Different factors of the adsorbent, like, contact time, pH of the sorption medium, concentration of the dye solution, were investigated by the batch sorption experiment. The adsorption equilibrium data was best fitted by the Langmuir isotherm m...

Removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutions using modified clay

Introduction: Discharging of industrial colored wastewaters especially into aqueous environments can cause adverse effects on aquatic life due to their toxic natures. In this study, montmorillonite modified by hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HDTMA-Mt) was used for the adsorption of methylene blue (MB). Materials and Methods: The influence of surfactant loading rate, contact time, pH, adso...
